Safari permits are issued by the Rajasthan Forest Department. Zone allocation is done by the department and cannot be guaranteed in advance. Core zones (1–5) are closed during the monsoon (July–September); only buffer zones 6–10 run in this window, with all 10 zones reopening from 1 October.
1 Day / Zones 6–10
The reserve's core zones (1–5) stay closed through the monsoon, so this season's safaris run only in the lush buffer zones 6–10 — quieter, greener, and open right now through the end of September.
Depart for a morning gypsy safari into one of the open buffer zones (6–10). Post-rain greenery, full lakes and active wildlife, with a naturalist pointing out tracks, birdlife and the occasional tiger.
Optional second safari in the afternoon slot, zone permitting. Return to your hotel by dusk.

Core zones (1–5) and all 10 zones reopen from 1 October — book ahead as permits for the reopening weeks sell out quickly.
2 Days / 1 Night
Two safaris across the core zones, with a resort stay on the forest edge.
Arrive Sawai Madhopur and check in to your resort. Afternoon jeep safari into the core zones, returning by dusk. Evening bonfire and dinner at the property.
Early morning safari departing before sunrise — the best window for tiger sightings. Return for breakfast, then checkout by late morning.

Half Day
The UNESCO-listed fort, Trinetra Ganesh Temple and ridge-top views, guided.
Drive to the fort gate and climb the stepped approach to Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a guide explaining its Chauhan-era history.
Visit the Trinetra Ganesh Temple inside the fort walls, take in the ridge-top views over the reserve, then descend and return to your hotel.

1 Day Trip
Gharial, marsh crocodiles and river birds on the National Chambal Sanctuary.
Early departure to the Chambal riverfront (approx. 2 hours). Boat safari through the National Chambal Sanctuary to spot gharial, marsh crocodiles, turtles and migratory birds.
Lunch stop en route, then the drive back to Ranthambore, arriving by evening.
